"The Karimikui Factory, located in Ngairiama in the Kirinyaga District, is one of the three mills of the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society. Does that phrase sound familiar? Oh yes, indeed. Because at our roastery, we clearly have a great fondness for Rungeto FCS coffees; they simply impress us every year (in blind tastings, just for the record!).
This time, Felix chose this Karimikui AA because it offers a true explosion of flavors in the cup. The roast has everything you'd expect from a classic Kenyan profile—complemented by a wonderful sweetness and caramel notes that envelop the lively, fruity acidity.
Processing: After sorting (by hand and floating), the cherries are pulped, fermented, and washed. To enhance the distinctive flavor of the origin, the coffee is then soaked in fresh water again. This is followed by a two-week drying period on raised beds specially designed to ensure a stable and consistent drying process."
